AI POLICY
In my creative practice, I like to get my hands dirty. I work with ink and paper. I have a long history in labor jobs and the service industry. I want to see and feel the results, and I learn best by doing it myself.
That said, I have a strict policy regarding generative AI. I will not use generative AI tools to write a grant proposal. A well crafted grant requires the human touch, because a strong narrative is akin to writing a poem.
I am open to the use of AI as a constructive tool for tasks such as data analysis or assembling skeleton structures - basically anything mathematical. But creativity, narration, critical thinking, that is done solely by me, and I wouldn't even think to let a generative AI tool take that joy of discovery away from the work that I enjoy doing.
