Community-driven artist & leader

I am Abby Kacen, and I am an artist, grant strategist, community organizer, and nonprofit professional. My focus in my nonprofit career has been the creative arts, youth development, and advocacy. I am passionate about sustaining and growing creative communities, empowering artists, and supporting the leaders in arts.

I received my MA in Nonprofit Management and BFA in Visual Arts from the University of Georgia. I've received continuing education and certifications in leadership from the Georgia Center for Nonprofits and Nonprofit Leadership Institute of Greater Cincinnati.

I've held roles related to public art, suicide prevention, public health education, active transportation education, and community-arts programming.

Beyond my nonprofit work, I am a cartoonist creating graphic novels and zines, developing resources for independent artists working in small press publishing, and coaching artists to inspire organizing and leadership in their communities.
